“You are the entire ocean in a drop”- Rumi

 

“The Ocean in a Drop” is an art object I created during the first lockdown of 2020.

 

The world outside was in turmoil, but my life in the studio was calm and serene. My mind was silent, yet buzzing with the emotions of what we were going through individually and collectively.

 

Inspired by the depth of the ocean, the emotion of the pandemic and Rumi’s words is this art object that is special to me in many different ways.

 

Palette: Dark blue on the outer surface and teal on the inner

 

Finish: Satin matt, textured glazed surface on the inside. Natural matt of the clay on the outer surface.

 

Space: This art object should be placed slightly below eye level to enjoy the textures and the flow of water both on the inside as well as the outside
